Where we were
The past two weeks we’ve fixed a lot of the bugs and annoyances surrounding general game play and balancing. You can see the details in the patch messages since we moved to this phase.
Where we are
In an attempt to fix a small things with boats we introduced a bug that broke crafting over the weekend. We were running a more skeleton crew that normal this weekend so a fix was not going to happen. The proper coders have been identified (flogged) and we’ll be getting a fix out as soon as we can. The numbers continue to stay solid and the activity levels compared to closed beta are absolutely impressive.
Internally we’re moving back to our task management system which was a bit neglected in the haste to get to Open Beta so we should have a better idea of who is assigned what and where to apply pressure. That also means I can get more relevant information out in these updates.
Where we want to be
Due to player requests for a stuck character, we’re working on an offline tool that a few of us can use to move characters to safe spots. This will not be part of a game release, but an internal tool that we’ll be testing via IRC volunteers shortly. We also still have a number of original opening weekend items that we’re working on and should have updates to shortly.
I’d also like to take this time to remind our players that game breaking exploits, hacks, or 3rd party tools should be reported to support@waisoft.com.
