Just a notice to say that we at the development team are still alive and still sorting through some internal issues. We expect to resume development within the next couple of weeks.

A game like this with the interest people are giving it needs more information guys, if you are having internal issues thats your business not ours but maybe keep us up to date on where your at with development and estimated times to re-open the servers, i notice alot of people waiting for this game to start backup myself including and a team of my friends, without much information we are wondering how long we are going to wait, wether we should start putting out attention into others games in the time its going to take etc. i think this game looks awesome and you guys are doing a great job just needs abit more info for your player base xD

It is not always easy to offer a time schedule when there is a problem, as not every problem has a definite timescale. If it was something predictable I am sure Wiz would offer more detail, but at this stage that is not available.
I have been asking regularly for some form of update on the situation, and this post is the reply. While I do speak with members of the team on a regular basis I get no more information than people here. Wiz is very aware that people want information and are keen to play the game in the next stage of beta, and is working towards that goal for everyones benefit.

So… Just a question. Has there been 0 development since the servers came down? All the news updates seem to hint in that direction but nobody will say it.
Either case good luck to the dev. team i wish you the best and I hope the “internal issues” don’t lose your fan base, a few months with absolutely no real news on the server will probably encourage a lot of people to look elsewhere. Hopefully i’m wrong. :D

The guys that have played it so far a the lucky ones. they have some sense of direction into what it is all about. i was unlucky to download the game as the server closed, boo for me. Have Been playing WURM, and watching all and Any New on the game Archeage, and also waiting Quietly for the servers to come up on this. I agree internal issues shouldn’t be push into light as a point of blame, nor Should the Subscribers be left in the dark. i would have thought that most of the time the mechanics of the game could have been done in the back ground, with out closing the server. Closer a server normally means the money to run it has gone, i would have thought??. As changing a world after it has been build would be an upload plus maintenance check to see if it is working, I also would have thought that leaving some sort of server running would have been good for your Members to build on, with a simple notice to say that there is an update coming that will change the Map to afresh, and that if you do not wish to create and test during this time, you would not be obligated too. People then would have some thing to do. Your Beta testers would be happy, and your numbers would grow quicker then having a closed server, people complaining about the why’s, How’s and Can Be’s. I to Wish that you can sort out what ever mess you are in, whether it be a founding issue, or worker dispute, and bring everything to the table, to let your fans, members, Beta Testers, The Community on hand know what they are in for, Game info, Server Info, Any Info that keeps us all in the loop, and not just hanging… Cheers …. and GOOD LUCK!!

Great… I guess I aint the only one that stumbled on the download page thinking, hey, this looks like what-UO-3D-should-of-been only to spend 4 hours downloading it to realize… it’s closed, why the heck didn’t they just remove the download link? it’s not like the current available version will be useful when it comes back up, it’ll have to be re downloaded, again.

The current game client will be the same client after the relaunch, there will just be some additional data patched to your client. By leaving the links in place it allows people to install the large portion of the client now, and then when the beta resumes they will only need to update the client like everybody else.
This is a no win situation really, as removing the links results in negative feedback and leaving the client available seems to also do the same.

i get ther are busy etc etc but seriously if they are expecting people to pay for a game and wait for it to be launched they NEED to submit more news now and again, people are going to stop waiting over time if nothing new comes up, people are already saying it wont ever come back since nothing is being told to the fanbase! its really not that acceptable to assume people will wait and for this game without news

Oh and seriously get off your asses and post news, screenshots of what you’re currently working on or have worked on even if it’s not going to be in the game for a while. I have some screenshots from the IRC that are really pretty cool. People love video game development blogs, especially from indie developers. I’m sure you can spare an hour every week to whip up something, even if it’s short if you care about your game. Dawntide is your child and you should want it to be as great as it can be.

If they were broke and couldn’t afford to keep the server running they could ask for donations from the fan base…. If the server was up and running i would pay a minimal (no more than say £3) a month to keep the server up.
That is as long as the game is good. If i had more money i would donate to keep games like this being developed as i think all the “big” commercial companies make crap carebear type mmo’s that make pvp a crappy option these days.
Also i hate how all games have to be made for the casal gamer!!!!

Well if there is no news by the end of this week I am going to give on this game. It is very rude to leave your fans in the dark for so long without even an explanation. And no “internal issues” is not an explanation. I was extremely excited for this game, but after waiting for almost 3 months I am pissed.
I will leave you with a suggestion: it is best to communicate freely and honestly with people that are counting on you or are interested in your work.

Wippons I am not in a position to update news posts or make any official comment, however I have been in contact with members of the team on a regular basis. I will ask Wiz to give some update when I speak with him next, hopefully by the end of the week.
The last news post was just over 2 weeks ago, and I am monitoring the forums daily, but with no game activity there is very little to comment on. I am not the only one watching the forums so hopefully you will get some more information soon.

Wippons your absoluty correct, I to believe it is better to be honest and above board about the game, you do not tell people functions of the game are working and they are not, or better yet tell the player its thier machine or its thier fault, also when its not.
I really dont look for this game to come back up anytime soon, wait i take that back if you use the word SOON the same as the devs use it, then yes it will come up soon, but keep in mind soon to these guys is about a year.

Does anyone else get an image of a vanload of kids sitting in the back of a van screaming ‘are we there yet?’ when they read through these comments?
I’m half expecting the next Dev comment to be a threat to turn the MMO around and back to alpha ;P
PS constantly asking when they are going to be done or how far in are they will not get the developement done any faster, nor will it get you an update from the Devs any sooner. They will update us when they have something to update.
