I have built 3 player towns ingame, and 2 of them, were a big hit among my friends, and clan. I would like to talk about layouts, and planning towns, as just blindly laying things down is not only stupid, it ruins the game for people because I for one when I travel around the map want to stop in a well set up town ..(that reminds me, working taverns players can set to public and stock with food and drink are a must) The last town I built was on the island northeast of North Vynn, and towards the end, my clan made it the best lookking town I have seen ingame. So, lets talk about what ideas you have for a town when the server goes back up.

For the settlement I start on the new map, I am definitely going to follow the layout of a medieval mercantile bastion or castle town. The cornerstone of the settlement will be a large market square with one side being the dock front. There will be three main avenues branching off in the directions on the remaining 3 sides of the center square. One of these avenues will come into a smaller drill square for the settlement’s military establishment and keep/castle. One avenue will serve a residential district and the last avenue will serve a manufacturing/industrial district. The center area around the market will be the commercial district. The whole thing will be surrounded by a wall. |

There are no walls ingame yet, as they really have not been necessary, Im hoping they do allow us to put walls around our towns, because without that, siege warfare is going to be pointless defending……. On a side note, a friend of mine did figure out how to build his own walls ;) |
