I felt what I am about to say should be posted on the Political forum instead of elsewhere in the event that I do in fact join a guild. Earlier today Legolan (I think that’s your name) and I got into something of a conversation involving factions and my supposed desire to topple factions that are controlling mines. I do not, in fact, have any desire to mess with any faction what so ever partially because my chosen gathering profession has little to nothing to do with mining, partially due to my not having enough physical force or community presence to form a group powerful enough to be a threat, and partially because I don’t want to inflict any sort of long standing rage within the community while we are testing out various aspects of the game. My statement to Legolan was admittedly confusing. Should he have spread my comments to other people within the alliances that have formed, the following is to clarify what I meant: I used to be a hired assassin on a few of the Sandbox MMOs I’ve played on in the past. Usually, this just meant collecting a bounty, or causing some sort of momentary grief for a player with the intent to cause agression back toward my client (further causing my services to be required). But SOMETIMES this would mean my causing subersion within the ranks of a guild controlling something important like a mine or finding the weak link in an alliance and finding ways for that weak link (and thusly others) to switch sides or suddenly be put into a position where they had to remain neutral. All of this was done for roleplayings’ sake. I’ve never caused any sort of mayhem that was meant to destroy a community or topple a guild to the point of getting the guild to split up. It has happened in the past, but the majority of the time it caused the communities I was involved in to thrive, causing people to think outside of the ‘norms’ of gaming, and create a competitive atmosphere. Will I ever try and form a guild that will strike out at another? Maybe, but I am more likely to be the guy who goes around ensuring new players have a chance to enjoy the game free of roaming bands of PvPers. I am also more than likely going to be a loner who constantly hunts for roleplayers while I collect herbs. Anyhow, I hope this clarified my intent: I am not looking to create a guild to harass your guild (you can put any guild in that spot, not just Legolan’s) but to just enjoy myself and have fun. |

I believe your missunderstanding this, I believe the use of the word controling here means ( owning the mine ) Not controling what spawns there. However to some degree, you can control what does spawn in a node. |
