Pretty Scaring..

The in game population is the primary reason for lack of activity in these forums.

With very little competition for land and no way for land to change hands politics dont really occur. With a global chat chanel in beta any discussions can be started in game via this chanel and then progress to a private discusion. These forums have been created so that they can be used in future not just during the beta, in a live game with more territory conflict and alliances forming the political discussion forums will likely get more use.

The trade forum was created for players to either set up notices of goods for trade, or discussing trade rates or mechanics. Again the global chat chanel has made this almost redundant, along with the fact that most factions quickly become self sufficient. Having 5 players all allowed multiple accounts and 5 characters per account you can see how easy it is for a faction to avoid trade altogether. With a tighter restriction on characters per account more trade will take place. I would also assume the global chanel will be removed for a live game but this has not been confirmed or denyed.

The beta population has remained pretty low in the last 2 years for a number of reasons, and hopefully during the final phase of beta we will see a much more active community with regular players logging in to assist with bug reporting and exploring the game.
