Not sure if this is an already known bug or not as I can’t view the redmine bug reports anymore. However last night I gathered about 1000 timber. As we were trading them between another member of the faction to make planks, some of the wood got lost. Now I’m told this is a common thing, but usually you can just restart the game to find them in your backpack again. This time it was not the case. Out of 1000 timber that was made into planks only 400 were acquired back to me. The carpentrer member also checked her backpack, relogged and couldn’t find them.

The Trading Window have many issues, but this is the only one that’s actually made us lose materials. Henceforth I don’t advice people using it to transfer larger stacked items. I hope the dev team will deal with the trade window and refine its transferral settings withing the near future as its quite a vital part for the interactive gameplay between players.

Ok, it is really hard to determine what, exactly, happened here without some more information. How many planks did she (the carpenter) make out of the ~1000 timber?

Out of the 1000 planks they made and put into trade window, he received 400 of them. 600 were lost. They all tried relogging, and Grim tried 2 or 3 times. Ultimately, we called it a loss, but I told Grim to mention it and see if the GMs would replace materials lost in this manner.

Tablix and I spent quite a while testing the trade window. It seems likely that you experienced a display bug. We experienced several of these, and while confusing we experienced no actual loss when trading large amounts of items where both people had room for the items in their bags. Only crashing (NOT restarting the client) cleared the ‘ghost’ items from the trade window. This is most likely what happened in this situation (though crafting fails may also have been involved.)

In situations where items became cursored due to lack of bag space, things could easily become more complicated, but Grimnir said that no items were dropped in this case.

I’ll be consulting with a couple devs Monday about what we found. I would highly suggest that when trading items that players confirm how much they are putting in the trade window BEFORE they put it in. And that they confirm with the person they are trading with how much they received. Also, keep an eye on bagspace before trades to avoid overflow.

I would recommend only transfering the contents of one bag at a time, even if you have multiple stacks of the same item. This way it is easier to confirm quantities and locate any issues.

There are 2 issues that occur when transfering items from more than one bag(or empty bag slot) that I’ve noticed. The first is that when you transfer from 2 bags the is a display error where it shows as 2 groups of items for the person offering and one for the reciever. In this case one of the stacks will stay in the trade window for future trades for the person that offered the stacks until they relog.

The other issue I think is what the OP experienced. If you try to trade 2 or more stacks of items that the recipient can’t fit in thier bags then the first stack will appear in the recipients hands and the rest will vanish.
