Hey folks, it’s been months since I signed in on beta, but I still lurk. Anyway, having been around the block for a while, I’d like to link to you guys a post that is still genuinely thought provoking and also gives insight into just who is Wiz. Read Wiz’s post at http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14626 from years gone by, and revel in the fact that this guy is now forming Dawntide. btw Wiz thx for teh ban on SoD

If the Wiz developing Dawntide is in fact the same Wiz who developed the Winter’s Roar server years ago then I am even more excited to see how far this project will go. Damn, that was so long ago and I have nothing but fond memories of that experience. I’m almost without words now that I think about it. Playing that shaman on Winter’s Roar was an absolute grand adventure every single time that I logged in. Even though it was basically the same EverQuest that I had played before, Winter’s Roar somehow made it all incredibly refreshing and thrilling all over again. If even a sliver of the vision he had for Winter’s Roar made it into the dream of what this game will one day become then you can sign me up for a lifetime subscription right now. Haha, I remember a convo in IRC when he revealed that English was actually his second language and I was just dumbfounded with how he could articulate himself better than anyone who ONLY spoke English. I had never seen or heard of anyone actually SMART on the internet before him. I also remember Melwin compare the action of speaking to my stubborn adolescent arse to be quite similar to speaking to a very dense rock. Hahaha. I wonder if he’s around here as well? Anyway, thanks for that thread. Certainly brought back some fond gaming memories and gave me a lot of hope for this game. No wonder I’ve been mysteriously attracted to it. |
