If the Wiz developing Dawntide is in fact the same Wiz who developed the Winter’s Roar server years ago then I am even more excited to see how far this project will go.

Damn, that was so long ago and I have nothing but fond memories of that experience. I’m almost without words now that I think about it. Playing that shaman on Winter’s Roar was an absolute grand adventure every single time that I logged in. Even though it was basically the same EverQuest that I had played before, Winter’s Roar somehow made it all incredibly refreshing and thrilling all over again.

If even a sliver of the vision he had for Winter’s Roar made it into the dream of what this game will one day become then you can sign me up for a lifetime subscription right now.

Haha, I remember a convo in IRC when he revealed that English was actually his second language and I was just dumbfounded with how he could articulate himself better than anyone who ONLY spoke English. I had never seen or heard of anyone actually SMART on the internet before him. I also remember Melwin compare the action of speaking to my stubborn adolescent arse to be quite similar to speaking to a very dense rock. Hahaha. I wonder if he’s around here as well?

Anyway, thanks for that thread. Certainly brought back some fond gaming memories and gave me a lot of hope for this game. No wonder I’ve been mysteriously attracted to it.
