INNOVATIVE COMBAT SYSTEM
The combat system is specifically
designed to allow players the greatest amount of flexibility in using their
character. Based around an Action Queue, players will be able to anticipate
others. attacks and, depending on their knowledge of the game, be able to
prepare the most effective defense, counter attack or other.
REAL PLAYER ECONOMY
In Dawntide, items will be built by
players. NPCs will only buy items that they themselves need or want, and
thus the economy will depend entirely on supply and demand.
Items are made from natural resources such as wood, stone and metal, which
must be extracted by the producer or purchased from another player.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The ability to conduct research into
technology and magic is a more or less completely unseen feature in MMOGs.
Dawntide features a full fledged research and development system that allows
players to invent entirely new items to utilize.
EXPANSIVE CLAN SYSTEM
Groups of players will have wide-scoped
management tools at their disposal that will allow them to efficiently
organize large entities. Players will be expected to band together in
everything from small groups to gargantuan political factions in order to
control and dominate territory and other aspects of the game.
TERRITORIAL WARFARE
One of the main features in Dawntide is
the ability to claim and control territory, then build infrastructure to
better exploit it. However, the amount of land is finite, and will likely be
hotly contested.
Some territory is richer in natural resources than others, or may have some
site or other rarity that makes it exceptionally valuable or useful, which
will make it worthwhile for player factions to fight over and put an effort
into developing the areas.
NAVAL GAMEPLAY
Dawntide features a large repertoire of
sailing activities, including naval combat. The Dawntide world will be very
large, and travelling by sea will be far faster than travelling by foot,
especially if transporting volumes of goods. Ships have a higher storage
capacity and are faster than land-based means of transport, so naval
superiority will be near mandatory if a faction intends to hold and control
any real amount of territory.
