News, Features and Media

A lot of good things are happening with Dawntide's development, and we're chugging along very nicely. We haven't let a lot of it reach the website, because frankly it's not been that interesting to show off, or has been invisible background development that can't easily be shown off on a website, until now.

Dawntide, as in the actual software, now looks like a computer game as we know them, complete with buttons and an interface. Hell, it looks like a good game. The foundation for our MMOG world has been laid, and all the juicy ideas are starting to see implementation.

The Features section has been expanded a lot with several new, comprehensive articles - though they're very heavy reading, they'll give you the best overview of Dawntide you can get without playing it after release. They're due for a rewrite for easier reading, but we felt it was important to get something out there.

We have also posted new screenshots for you to check out in the Media section, and we have more material we'll be releasing over the next weeks, such as an awesome zombie and a platypus! In less than a month, the first closed alpha phase will begin. After this first phase, we will have regular rounds of acceptances in order to expand our testing team, so stay tuned. Activity on the forums and in IRC are the first things we'll be looking at, so contributing there is the best thing you can do to get in.
