Demon
Large, vicious and powerful, demons have no natural place in Cieve. They come only by the call of a sorcerer or the lure of a place of power. They must feed on sorcerous energies to live and and will quickly fade back into their own world if not sustained in such a way. Demons detest the mages who bind them, and if an careless or unlucky sorcerer should lose control of one, the demon will invariably use its remaining power to cause as much suffering and misery to the little mortal creature that dared to summon it forth.
Though many believe demons are immortal, they are in fact known to have a hierarchy based on age. Younger demons have brownish skin and are smaller than their older, reddish kin. Demons boast an arsenal of natural weapons in horns, claws and, in the cases of the larger and older individuals, tails with a spiked ball attached to it. Lesser demons are not very bright and will fight only with claws and fangs, while older demons have been known to use weapons and even sorcery. The most ancient of demons have considerable powers at their disposal, rending their victims with elemental forces and conjuring forth lesser demons to fight for them.
